Starting secondary school is a big change so young people in Plymouth have created a leaflet to help others through this important transition in their lives. The leaflet shares information that young people wished they’d had at the time of joining schools and covers themes such as:

  • What to expect
  • Making friends
  • Joining online friend groups

The development of the leaflet was supported by the NSPCC’s Together for Childhood team and Plymouth Council’s Youth Participation Team as part of a wider online harms campaign in the city. The leaflet aims that through early signposting, young people will be encouraged to seek trusted sources of support and information, as well as reaching out for support if they need to.
